Foundation Stage

Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors to our school,

A very warm welcome to Early Years at Childs Hill. As Early Years phase leader I feel truly privileged to lead such a wonderful part of the school and to have the opportunity of ensuring that each child in Early Years receives the best possible start to their education.

We understand that starting school is a huge step in your child’s life and my team and I are committed to ensuring everyone feels safe, happy and most of all excited to come to school to experience all the new and exciting experiences we have on offer! We make the transition into Childs hill as smooth as possible using home visits and stay and play sessions to get to know your child before they start in September.  

We are proudly inclusive and understand that all children develop at a different pace. We believe this depends on every child having the opportunity to build positive relationships and interact with stimulating environments in order to fully engage with their learning and recognise their strengths. As a restorative school we believe that relationships are at the heart of everything we stand for and I pride myself on creating a warm and nurturing setting that gives children the space and opportunities to play, inquire and explore the world around them.
